Richard Goodall takes the crown! America’s Got Talent 2024 winner with record-breaking votes and $1 million prize

Richard Goodall wowed the judges over the past several months and wowed viewers of the show to keep voting for him after singing songs like Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” and Survivors “Eye of the Tiger.”

The journey to this point has taken months. Back in May, we learned the West Vigo Middle School janitor was about to make an appearance as a contestant on AGT. It was all thanks to a Tik Tok video of him singing to students.

“She come up with the kindergarten teachers and they said that it was at 100,000 thousand views and I said is that good and she said that she didn’t even have 1,000 followers. By the end of that weekend, it was a million,” Richard Goodall explained.

What Goodall could not tell us back then, was that he’d received a golden buzzer from AGT judge Heidi Klum. It sent him straight to the quarter-final round.

After succeeding in the quarter-finals, Goodall came home to a welcome back rally at the school he’d cleaned for many years. He spoke to students and staff sharing an inspiring message.

“You can achieve anything you want at any age and it don’t matter what you look like. It don’t matter what color your hair is, what color your eyes are. If you just keep going and perfect what you do, where you’re at eventually at some point, someone is going to notice,” said Goodall.

It was then back to AGT’s semi-finals and onto the finale where he was much loved by the judges.

“He was a hero genuinely. He’s like the man who stood up for every underdog out there,” said AGT judge Simon Cowell.

“He touches my heart, my soul and I just know he touched everyone else’s heart and soul at home too.”

He’s also loved by many people, but he says, he’s not letting the fame effect him.

“I’m gonna stay that humble person. No matter what I’m doing or where I’m at,” added Goodall.

Richard Goodall’s journey has been incredible and watch the moment his name was called for the $1 million prize below.

THE GUY WHO BULLIED ME THROUGH HIGHSCHOOL NEEDED MY HELP IN THE ER I’ve been a nurse for six years now. Long shifts, aching feet, barely enough time to eat—but I love it. It’s the one place where I feel like I truly matter. Nobody cares what I look like, just that I do my job well. But today? Today threw me back to a time I’d rather forget. I walked into the ER room with my chart, barely glancing at the name. “Alright, let’s see what we got—” Then I looked up. Robby Langston. He was sitting on the bed, wincing as he held his wrist, but when he saw me, his eyes went wide. For a second, I thought maybe he didn’t recognize me. But then he did a quick, awkward glance at my face—at my nose—and I knew. Middle school, high school… he made my life hell. “Big Becca,” “Toucan Sam,” all the creative ways to make a girl hate her own reflection. I spent years wishing I could shrink, disappear, be anyone else. But here I was, standing in scrubs, holding his chart, and he was the one needing me. “Becca?” His voice was hesitant, almost nervous. “Wow, uh… it’s been a while.” I kept my face neutral. “What happened to your wrist?” “Basketball injury,” he said. “Just a sprain, I think.” I nodded, checking his vitals, doing my job like I would with anyone else. But inside, I was battling old ghosts. I had imagined a moment like this before—facing my past, getting some kind of closure. Maybe even some kind of justice. Then, as I wrapped his wrist, he let out ⬇️
