When I was saying “I do” at the altar, this was definitely not what I expected

On the night of our wedding, Scott, my husband, was eager for intimacy,

but I was exhausted and hoped to delay our physical connection for just a while longer.

Scott, being the understanding partner he was, accepted my excuse with a kiss goodnight.

Little did I know, our night was far from over, In the hushed hours of midnight

I stirred from my slumber, feeling the bed tremble beneath me. Startled,

I turned to find Scott on the bed, cradling a baby in his arms. I was in complete shock

when he introduced the infant as Ella, his orphaned niece, and disclosed the sudden

responsibility thrust upon him. “Everly, this is Ella,” he gulped, and my world spun as he continued.

“She is my orphaned niece. My stepsister, Maya, is gone now. I found out about her just a few weeks ago.”

That was the start of a night of revelations that would reshape our lives. “Everly, I was scared you’d

leave if you knew about her,” Scott confessed, not meeting my eyes. “How could you do this, Scott?

How can we start our life together with secrets and lies?” I asked, appalled. But I took a deep breath.

“Scott, what’s the plan here? Are you… wait, are we going to adopt Ella?” “I haven’t thought that far, Everly.

Right now, I just need to take care of her,” he answered, avoiding further discussion on the matter.

The following morning, as sunlight flooded through the windows of Scott’s grand estate,

the weight of the previous night’s secrets hung heavily in the air. Questions buzzed in my mind like persistent insects,

demanding answers. Who was Ella’s mother? Why had Scott kept her existence hidden from me?

And what did this mean for our newly minted marriage? The baby’s mother, Maya, was his estranged step-sister that no one in the

family had any contact with. So why did he help her? As we settled into our new roles,

caring for Ella amidst the opulent surroundings of Scott’s home, the facade of marital bliss began to crack.

Doubts gnawed at the edges of my consciousness, fueled by the shadows of Scott’s past and the mystery surrounding Ella’s origins.

Days turned into weeks, and the rift between us deepened as I struggled to reconcile the man

I thought I knew with the secrets he harbored. Scott’s attempts at reconciliation fell

on deaf ears as I grappled with betrayal and uncertainty. “Maybe we should consider putting Ella

up for adoption,” I said tentatively. “Adoption? Everly, that’s unthinkable. Ella is my responsibility,” Scott argued.

“Maybe find a loving foster family for her. Someone could be a better mother than me—” “Is this your way of testing me?

You think I married you just to have a mother for Ella?” he asked. “Yes!” “You’re being ridiculous!

”The following day, I sought solace at the beach with Ella, hoping the rhythmic crash of waves against

the shore would calm the turmoil within me. As I gazed out at the endless expanse of ocean, lost in thought,

a figure emerged from the mist, a mysterious woman I have never seen before. Her demeanor was cold and aloof,

her lip curled in disdain as her gaze flickered between me and the baby nestled in my arms. I braced myself

for her scrutiny, her piercing eyes seeming to bore into my soul as she uttered a single question that sent

a chill down my spine. “Scott’s daughter?” she asked, her voice laced with contempt, as if the mere mention

of his name left a bitter taste in her mouth. Her words hung in the air like a heavy fog, thick with unspoken

implications and hidden meanings. I hesitated, unsure of how to respond to this enigmatic stranger who

seemed to know more about my husband than I did. Could she hold the key to unlocking the secrets that

had plagued our marriage since that fateful night?

With a sense of unease settling over me like a shroud, I was determined to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.

Once home, I confronted my husband and he finally admitted that Ella was his daughter. I took all of

my belongings and left the mansion. But just as we began to find a semblance of peace, a cryptic message arrived,

casting a shadow of doubt over our fragile truce. “Maya’s not the only secret Scott’s buried,” the message read.

The revelation that Ella might not be the only secret Scott had buried sent shockwaves through our already tumultuous existence.

Once I gathered courage, I called the number written in the letter. “Meet me at Brown Beans Café,” the voice from the other

side of the phone said. “Don’t tell Scott. “I’m Scott’s ex-wife… and this is our baby, Renee,” the woman I met at the café revealed.

“Sco-Scott’s ex-wife??” I uttered, heartbroken. “Everly, you need to understand the danger you’re in. Scott’s not who he seems.

He’s just using you,” she insisted. I was shocked. “But why? How did you find out about all this?” I asked with a trembling voice.

“Maya figured it out somehow. She tried to expose him, and that’s when she had her accident,” she whispered. “You need to be careful.

Don’t let him know what you’ve discovered. Just play along until we figure out an escape plan. ”In the days to come, I learned

I was pregnant, but I only told Scott about that after I terminated the pregnancy. This decision was a result of Amanda’s

words that echoed in my mind, “He wants you to have a male child for his cult.” When Scott learned what I did he was angry beyond words.

And just as he was grabbing a vase to hit me with, the police knocked at the door. Amanda arrived with them, and her presence felt

like a sweet reassurance. I smiled and looked beyond my home, the police car…into the camera. “Cut! That was a perfect shot!” the director yelled,

as I laughed as Scott, my real-life husband and co-star, who praised my excellent performance. “You did an incredible job, Everly… I’m so proud of you!”

he exclaimed, his eyes shining with pride. This project for a short film was indeed born on the night of our wedding,

when him holding his niece led to a sweet misunderstanding. It was then that his creativity sparked, leading to this script.

Our journey, a rollercoaster of emotions marked by moments of humor, drama, and love, served as a poignant reminder

that even amidst the chaos, there is beauty to be found. Through the highs and lows, we discovered that every twist

and turn in life’s narrative holds within it a story waiting to be told, a lesson waiting to be learned, and a smile waiting to be shared.

WOMAN RUINED 8-HOUR FLIGHT FOR ALL PASSENGERS – AFTER THE FLIGHT, THE CAPTAIN DECIDED TO PUT HER IN HER PLACE HIMSELF. It was a long flight after my swimming competition, and I had only one wish — to put a mask over my eyes and fall asleep. Right? Nope! Ever since we took off, I knew I’d have issues with the lady on my left (aisle seat). She was ringing the flight attendant button like there was a fire in our aisle and complaining non-stop about how both of us (the girl in the window seat and I) should be moved because we had “taken her place.” Then, aisle Greta stood up and demanded that someone switch seats with her because “it’s not fair she has to sit with two fat people” (I’m just tall) when she paid the same amount for her seat as we did for ours, and we were apparently “taking over” hers. That didn’t work for her, so she spent the whole flight kicking my arm and leg while I prayed for it to end faster. When we landed, she unbuckled and darted to the front of the plane to get off first. But SUDDENLY, our captain made an announcement and came out to ⬇Continues in the comments

JOKE OF THE DAY: A truck driver walks into a cafe on the Hume Highway with a full-grown emu behind him. The waitress asks for his order. The truckie says, “I’ll have a hamburger, chips and a coffee.” He turns to the emu, “What about you?” “Sounds good to me, I’ll have the same,” the emu replies. The waitress returns with their orders. “That’ll be $10.50 please.” The truckie reaches into his pocket, pulls out the exact change and pays her. The next day, the truckie and the emu return. He repeats his order, “A hamburger, chips and a coffee, please.” The emu repeats, “Sounds good. Same for me, please.” Once more, the truckie reaches into his pocket and produces the exact amount. This is their routine for a couple of days. One night, the two enter again. “I guess you’ll have the usual?” asks the waitress. “No, it’s Friday night. I’ll have a steak, baked potatoes and a salad,” says the truckie. “Sounds great, same for me, too,” says the emu. The waitress brings the order and says, “That will be $32.65.” Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table. The waitress can’t hold back her curiosity any longer. “You’ve really got me there, mate. How do you manage to always have the exact change every time?” ⬇️Joke continues in the first comment
