WATCH: Texas Has Kicked Off Construction On Historic Floating Border Barrier

Construction crews in Eagle Pass, Texas, started building a brand new, historic floating border barrier near the area on Monday. The ultimate goal of the new project is to provide a strong deterrent for individuals contemplating crossing the border illegally in high-traffic areas along the Rio Grande. This is largely due to the fact that so many immigrants have died attempting to cross the river, making it a serious safety hazard to those trying to gain access to the United States.

According to a report from the folks at Breitbart News, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lt. Olivarez posted a tweet containing several videos showing the construction crews starting on the installation of a series of buoys. The buoys are being put in place on the order of Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, and the Texas Legislature approved the funding for the project.

Along with the influx of thousands upon thousands of migrants crossing the area, Olivarez stated that these new barriers will also help save the lives of many individuals attempting to cross the dangerous river to reach American soil.

While the heat of a typical Texas summer is scorching, that has not seemed to deter migrants from continuing to attempt to cross from Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, into the Eagle Pass area.

However, not everyone is thrilled by the action that Gov. Abbott is taking to try to get a handle on the out-of-control border crisis raging along the state’s boundaries.

“What Abbott is doing is conducting an irresponsible experiment at the expense of federal and international law,” Steven Mumme, a scholar at the Baker Institute Center for the United States and Mexico that specializes in transboundary environmental and natural resources management along the U.S.-Mexico border, went on to say about the new buoys being constructed.

According to the Texas Standard, Mumme then stated that the new floating barriers would alter the flow of the river, which is illegal, and would ultimately make changes to the boundary between the U.S. and Mexico. It remains to be seen if Biden or another federal group goes after Gov. Abbott and Texas because of that, or if it will stay silent in the hope of the border crisis calming down without his administration having to deal with it.

Over the course of the last week, a total of four individuals drowned in the Eagle Pass area, attempting to cross the river. Some individuals are concerned the barriers will make rescue missions more difficult. But it could also stop individuals from attempting to cross the first place, obviating the need for most rescue missions. It remains to be seen what happens on that front.

Mumme revealed that netting will be installed to prevent migrants from swimming beneath the buoys. He also said that he believes this will lead to debris being trapped by the nets and create additional hazards for those trying to cross. But, again, if the danger and difficulty deter them from crossing, then the hazards won’t come into play.

I FOUND AN ALMOST-FROZEN BOY AT MY DOOR ON CHRISTMAS EVE WHO SAID, “I FINALLY FOUND YOU!” So, it’s Christmas Eve, and my husband and I are busy getting ready to host friends for the holiday. In the middle of the whirlwind, I came across an old photo of my parents when they were young. My dad disappeared when I was just 8 years old, and I never saw him again. Three years later, my mom’s heart gave out. After that, it was just one foster family after another. Then, out of nowhere, there’s a knock on the door. I open it, and standing there is a little boy, maybe 13 years old. He looked freezing and exhausted. “I FINALLY FOUND YOU!” he said. I glanced at his hand and nearly fainted. He was holding a bracelet I’d made for my dad when I was 6. “Who… are you?” I asked him with a trembling voice.⁣👇

Many objects in society are classified as either boys’ or girls’. Females are always expected to know how to cook, do laundry, and clean the house, whereas most guys are expected to be skilled with tools and participate in sports. People find it weird and amusing when boys or men carry out what is thought to be a female responsibility. Nicole Boulogne, a mother from Michigan, received backlash after posting images of her 7-year-old son cooking and cleaning the house Many questioned her parenting, believing that boys should not do tasks or help around the house because that is a woman’s responsibility. Nicole, a single mother of two, is doing her best to instill independence in her children. She takes care of everything around the house, but she also feels that her children should learn to do things on their own because it would benefit them later in life. Her older child is capable of simple cooking, yard mowing, and dishwashing. Her other child is still a toddler, but she plans to teach him how to do the same when he gets older. She had the right response when asked why she trains her child to do things like this. “I educate my son on how to cook and perform housework. Why? Because housework isn’t exclusive to women. Because one day he might be a single man living alone, who knows how to do laundry and not order takeout every night. Because he might wish to wow a significant other one day with a supper he prepared himself. Because one day, when he has children and a spouse, he’ll have to pitch in around the house. Because I’ll be leaving behind a generation of people who complain that education didn’t teach them how to cook, do laundry, wear a tie, or pay taxes. Because it is up to me to teach my son how to accomplish these things and be a useful member of society both within and outside the house. Because it’s okay to let your child be a child while teaching them life lessons. Cooking and chores will never be too “manly” for my son. He’ll be the type of guy who can come in from changing a tire to see how his pot roast is doing. Who can do his laundry and mow the lawn at the same time? “Keep in mind, parents, that a man who believes he shouldn’t have to cook or do housework was once a youngster who was never taught any better,” she wrote. Science is clearly on her mother’s side. Children who are permitted to help around the house learn how to take responsibility, take risks, and reach high goals later in life, according to studies. Nicole, congratulations. We think you’re an excellent mother. Please SHARE this uplifting tale on Facebook with your family and friends! Like us on Facebook for more motivational stories.
