Simple Homemade Crunch Bars You Can Make Without Baking

These homemade crunch bars are a simple, no-bake treat inspired by the familiar texture and flavor of classic chocolate snacks. They combine the light crispness of rice cereal with a smooth coating made from melted chocolate, peanut butter, maple syrup, and coconut oil. The result is a balanced dessert that feels rich without being overly sweet. Since no oven is needed, this recipe works well for warm weather, busy days, or anyone wanting a quick homemade option using basic pantry ingredients.

The preparation process is easy and suitable for beginners. Begin by lining an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, allowing extra paper on the sides for easy removal later. Place three cups of crispy rice cereal into a large bowl. In a separate heat-safe container, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, maple syrup, and coconut oil. Warm the mixture slowly, either in short microwave intervals or over low stovetop heat, stirring until everything melts into a smooth, glossy mixture.

Pour the melted mixture over the cereal and gently mix until all of the cereal is evenly coated. Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and spread it out into an even layer. Lightly press it down to help it hold together, taking care not to crush the cereal. Place the pan in the refrigerator and allow it to chill for about one hour, or until the bars are firm.

Once set, remove the mixture from the pan using the parchment paper and place it on a cutting surface. Cut into bars or squares as desired. Store the finished bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks, or keep them in the freezer for longer storage. This makes it easy to enjoy a homemade, crunchy treat whenever you want something quick and satisfying without baking.
