Secret to a long life? “Avoiding men,” said 109-year-old woman

A 109-year-old woman claimed that avoiding men is the key to a long life.

One of the UK’s oldest ladies thinks avoiding MEN is the key to living a long life. Jessie Gallan, the oldest person in Scotland, who was celebrating her 109th birthday, astounded caregivers when they inquired about advice on how to live a long life. She attributes her advanced age to staying away from males and eating a daily serving of porridge in the morning.

The Lifelong Health Secret of Jessie Gallan

Gallan was born in 1906 to a household of five sisters and a brother on a farm in Kintore, Scotland. Before fleeing home at 13 to work as a milkmaid, she shared a straw-filled mattress with her five sisters and one brother. Before working at a hotel where the Queen and Queen Mother were guests, she first assisted in a farm restaurant.

Gallan eventually relocated to the Crosby House, a private care facility for elderly people. Jessie is a lovely lady, as one of her support staff at the time, Gillian Bennett, told STV. Sarah Jane, her closest companion, is present, and they frequently hang out together. She enjoys music, enjoys working out, and is a very independent individual. She wanders around constantly. According to Bennett’s kind remarks, Gallan appears to also attribute her long life to remaining social and active. She passed away in March 2015, but her longevity secret is unlike anything we’ve ever heard! “My secret to a long existence has been avoiding men,” she said. Simply put, they’re not worth the hassle.

In addition, I made sure to exercise frequently, consume a warm bowl of porridge every morning, and never got married.

There is a resounding AMEN from other women all over the globe, but Gallan’s secret does involve diet… I enjoy eating oatmeal. I have my entire existence. On January 2, Jessie had supper and a piece of cake at the Aberdeen care facility Crosby House to commemorate her birthday.

Rebecca Streeter, a senior support worker, said: “Jessie still participates in the group activities because she enjoys her exercise.”

She attends every performance and cherishes Sundays at her. Furthermore, she has undoubtedly lived a very wholesome lifestyle. Following the passing of Clare Dawson of Glasgow in June 2013 at the age of 109, Jessie took the title of oldest lady in Scotland. Ethel Lang, 114, of Barnsley is the oldest surviving person in the UK.
