According to reports, Prince Harry was “in tears” after King Charles made his shocking statement.

Having resigned as seniors and defied convention, the 39-year-old Duke of Sussex and his 42-year-old bride, Meghan Markle, are two of the most contentious members of the royal family.

Prince Harry and Markle have used their position to participate in a number of public service projects since resigning from their official positions.

However, they still have a tense relationship with the royals.

The royal family most recently came under fire for ‘disrespecting’ Prince Harry and Markle’s fifth-birthday son, Archie.

The Duke is now alleged to have been “in tears” after his father rejected him.

The bond between Prince Harry and King Charles is not the only thing being scrutinized.

Following Prince Harry and Markle’s departure from the royal life, the Duke’s relationship with his 41-year-old older brother, Prince William, has also garnered media attention.

Princess Diana, their mother, lost her life in a vehicle accident in 1997. At the time, they were only 12 and 15.

According to Us Weekly, the late Princess Diana’s biographer Andrew Morton revealed in a 2019 issue of Royals Monthly that “their relationship is incredibly intimate.”

However, a source informed Us Weekly that Prince William “doesn’t even recognise” his younger brother anymore after “Spare” was released.

The insider claimed: “He wants to believe that there’s still hope for peace down the line, but it’s hard.”

The brothers’ relationship may have gotten even worse after they seemed to keep their distance during their father’s coronation in May 2023.

And King Charles, their father, is solely to blame.

The recent visit by Prince Harry to the UK has garnered media attention.

The Duke would not see his father because the King had a “full programme,” a representative for the Duke informed the BBC.

Prince Harry reportedly declined King Charles’ offer of a royal house while he was there, though.

The timing of this drama is now being questioned in light of a declaration made by King Charles.

The 75-year-old may have made the statement as a conscious signal to his youngest son, highlighting his irreversible alienation from the royal family, royal author and analyst Tom Quinn told the Mirror.

He claims Prince Harry was ‘in tears when he heard’, adding, “What makes it much worse is that the role is being given to the very man who Harry sees as the cause of so many of his problems – his brother.”

“And the announcement was deliberately made during Harry’s brief visit to the UK to have maximum impact; it shows Harry that he really is no longer welcome.”

Prince William was named the Army Air Corps’ Colonel-in-Chief by King Charles, a position that many thought Prince Harry should have held.

Given Prince Harry’s military service with the corps in Afghanistan, which he allegedly treasured for the feeling of normalcy and merit-based recognition it brought, the decision seems to highlight the division within the family.

Prince William’s appointment has been justified, according to royal analyst Pandora Forsyth, who told Sky News that the Prince of Wales is the “right fit for the role.”

Forsyth says, “Prince Harry knew this when he left as a senior member of the working family, that he would have to give up his honorary military titles.”

“So, unfortunately, this is just now the reality for Harry. And it’s brutal and of course, it’s going to hit home because it’s very personal for him.”
