Popular Star Leaves for Portugal Without Bringing Her Husband

Nicole Kidman appears to be setting her sights on a European chapter—solo. The Oscar-winning actress, 58, has officially applied for residency in Portugal, sparking buzz that she may be spending far more time abroad, possibly without husband Keith Urban by her side.

According to Portuguese news outlet SIC Notícias, Kidman submitted her visa paperwork to the country’s Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum earlier this week. She was recently spotted stepping off a private jet in Cascais, an affluent seaside town outside Lisbon that’s long been favored by international elites.

Adding to the intrigue? Urban’s name was noticeably missing from the application documents.

However, a source clarified to The Post that the country singer’s absence was due to scheduling conflicts. “Keith was unable to be in Portugal for this appointment as he is currently on tour in the US and it is mandatory for applicants to be physically present in order to apply for the visa,” the insider explained. “He is scheduled to submit his application at a later date that works with his tour schedule.”

While Urban’s name wasn’t on the paperwork, the couple already owns a luxury home in Lisbon, and their main base will reportedly remain in Nashville.

Kidman is also rumored to be eyeing a second home inside the ultra-exclusive CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club. Located about 80 miles south of Lisbon, the 722-acre resort is a celebrity magnet, attracting names like George Clooney, Paris Hilton, and even royal figures like Princess Eugenie.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were also rumored to have invested in a property within the CostaTerra enclave, with reports suggesting a price tag north of $4.7 million. The luxe development is operated by Discovery Land Company, co-founded by Mike Meldman—best known for teaming up with Clooney on the billion-dollar tequila brand, Casamigos.

Despite Keith Urban not attending the visa appointment, sources emphasized the move is not indicative of marital strain. The couple, who married in 2006, has long maintained an international lifestyle. They share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, and frequently split their time between the U.S. and Australia.

Kidman and Urban also boast an impressive property portfolio, including two combined penthouses in Sydney’s prestigious North Sydney Latitude building, a 36-acre estate in Franklin, Tennessee, and a mansion in Nashville’s exclusive Northumberland community. They also reportedly maintain properties in Manhattan and New South Wales.

With Europe potentially becoming a bigger part of their lives, fans are curious to see how this new chapter unfolds. For now, Kidman seems ready to embrace Portugal—with or without her husband, at least temporarily.
