The small boy walked away from his mother as they were inside of the Walmart. Once she found him a few minutes later, she initially wanted to reprimand him for wandering off… until she d’iscovered what he’d been up to.
“I had to run into Walmart. I turned around to make sure my son was next to me.”
When the mom finally found her son, he was kneeling at one of the benches towards the front of the store. At first, she didn’t quite understand what he was doing. Then she n oticed it looked as though he was praying… but still, why?!
That’s when the c’onfused mother looked above the boy’s head at the board hanging on the wall. “Every second counts,” the poster read. That’s when Mom realized what he’d been doing this whole time.
“Instead of finding him by my side I found him kneeling in front of the m issing children board praying.”
The simple yet powerful image went v’iral, and readers with m’issing loved ones across the country instantly connected with the em’otional moment captured in time. Another Facebook page called Bring Aubrey Home recognized a child in one of the photos hanging on the wall as Aubrey Jayce Carroll, a teenage boy from George who went mi’ssing in 2016.
One Facebook commenter said it best: “Whether or not you believe in God really doesn’t matter. This was a child in Walmart who was thinking about others and doing the only thing he could to help. The world would be a better place if everyone followed his example.”
