The healing properties of the miraculous plant, black cumin, are mentioned in the holy books of the Bible and the Quran.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “In the black seed (habbatus sauda) is a cure for every disease except death,” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 5688).

People from various cultures, including the Middle East and Asia, have been using black cumin, seeds of the plant Nigella sativa, in traditional medicine for centuries.

Among the rest, black cumin enhances the body’s defensive mechanism and helps fight various infections and viruses.

At the same time, they can ease the inflammation. This is why people who suffer from arthritis or asthma should include these seeds in their diet.

Black cumin is rich in antioxidants, and helps protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.

Further, the seeds from this plant, or the oil made of them, lower the blood sugar and decrease insulin resistance. For this purpose, mix half a teaspoon of oil extracted from these seeds in a cup of black tea and consume it in the morning and in the evening.

If you experience back pain, knee pain, or pain in the joints in general, mix half of the cumin oil with 2 tablespoons of honey and a teaspoon of vinegar and enjoy it before your morning meal.

Black cumin is also used to treat hair issues, such as hair loss. Compared to the expensive chemical treatments, it is natural and more affordable. For hair loss, use 20 g of cumin oil, 20 grams of Mehndi powder and 60 g of another oil (such as coconut oil, olive oil, or any carrier oil of your choice) and mix it in a paste.

Applying this to your scalp will help nourish it and will promote hair growth.

You can also use the paste for the skin, as a moisturizing or healing paste. This is thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties of the cumin oil and the soothing effects of mehndi.

Black cumin is also beneficial in the fight against Helicobacter Pylori infections and helps reduce the effects of epilepsy.
