As a substitute, Jill Biden passed a note to President-electĀ Donald TrumpĀ for his wife. ā€œI congratulated her and I offered help,ā€ Biden said in an interview with theĀ Washington Post. ā€œWhat would be the point of nastiness?ā€

Melania Trump’s absence from the event may be theĀ first timeĀ an incoming first lady has not attended the occasion. Her office released a statement saying, ā€œā€¦the media continue to provide false, misleading and inaccurate informationā€ about her absence from the event.
