Jeannie Seely, the beloved country music icon, has died at 85. She passed away at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage,

Tennessee, from complications of an intestinal infection, her representative confirmed. Seely had endured serious health

struggles in 2025, including multiple back surgeries, two emergency abdominal procedures, an ICU stay, and a

battle with pneumonia. Her death comes only months after the passing of her husband, Eugene Ward, who died of cancer.

Born and raised in the U.S., Seely became one of country music’s most respected voices. Known for her powerful singing,

timeless hits, and enduring presence, she enjoyed a career filled with chart-topping singles, awards, and recognition
