CBS weather reporter let go after controversy surrounding Elon Musk ‘Nazi salute’

A Milwaukee weather presenter, Sam Kuffel, was let go by WDJT-TV just one day after calling Elon Musk

a “Nazi” on social media. The controversy stemmed from Musk’s gesture at a gathering, which some

internet users likened to a Nazi salute. Kuffel’s post, which included a GIF from It’s Always Sunny

in Philadelphia, led to backlash, with conservative radio host Dan O’Donnell criticizing her for

spreading misinformation, Kuffel had been with the station for over five years before her abrupt

departure. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) defended Musk, stating his gesture was awkward but

not a Nazi salute. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also supported Musk,

emphasizing his strong ties to Israel and defense of the Jewish state
