Since Joe Biden ācould not be trusted,ā Donald Trump has now revoked a significant privilege that all previous presidents have enjoyed.
Trumpās goal is to restructure the majority of his predecessorās policies and usher in what he calls āAmericaās golden ageā during his presidency.
Trump now claims that he canāt ābe trustedā and is rescinding the former presidentās security clearance and daily intelligence briefing access, seemingly in a slight to Biden.
He wrote on his Truth Social platform, āThere is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information.ā
The Republican went on to say, āJOE, YOUāRE FIRED,ā a reference to his catchphrase from the television program The Apprentice, which he has been using a lot lately to fire some of Bidenās former government employees.
Trumpās move coincides with his accusation that Biden had excluded him from the briefings for the first time during his 2021 administration.
Biden set this precedentā, he claimed, when āhe asked the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy accorded to prior Presidents.ā
Trump also asserted that Biden ācould not be trusted with sensitive information,ā referencing an investigation into confidential file storage that revealed the 82-year-old had memory problems.
He wrote, āThe Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from āpoor memoryā and, even in his āprime,ā could not be trusted with sensitive information. I will always protect our National Security.ā
As a courtesy, all former presidents are invited to attend sensitive intelligence briefings; however, Biden denied Trump access in 2021.
Biden said Trumpās āerratic behaviorā was the deciding factor behind the move, adding, āWhat value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?ā
Numerous former CIA directors and scores of other former intelligence personnel have also had their security clearances revoked by Trump, who has accused them of influencing the 2020 election in favor of Biden.
Mark Milley, a senior US military commander and outspoken opponent of the Trump, is among those dismissed.
According to the BBC, Milleyās military grade has been reviewed and a probe into his āconductā has been requested by Pete Hegseth, the new defense secretary.
Anthony Fauci, the presidentās former main medical adviser, has also lost access to security information.
Trump insisted that it was āvery standardā to remove such individuals from the right, despite the fact that Fauci headed the US response to the coronavirus outbreak.
