Beloved ‘Little House On The Prairie’ Star Passed Away At 91

Jack Lilley, a beloved actor and stuntman best known for his work on *Little House on the Prairie*, has died at the age of 91. His co-star Melissa Gilbert

confirmed the news in a touching tribute, recalling how he taught her to ride horses as a child and always greeted her with warmth and humor.

Lilley was not only Victor French’s photo double but also appeared in multiple roles throughout the series and was featured in films like *Blazing Saddles*.

In 2002, Gilbert reunited with him on the set of the ABC pilot *Then Came Jones*, calling the experience surreal and nostalgic,

especially when she heard Lilley call out to her with his signature nickname,“Hey Halfpint, you old rat-ass!” She described Jack

as someone who always felt like home. Born in 1933, Lilley’s career spanned decades, particularly during the golden era of westerns.

He was a familiar face in shows like *Bonanza*, *Gunsmoke*, and *The Virginian*, admired for his rugged charm and fearless stunt work.

He seamlessly transitioned between acting and coordinating stunts, earning deep respect from his peers. Beyond film and television,

Lilley was known for his love of horses and the western way of life, often participating in rodeos and community events.

His legacy lives on through his memorable screen presence, generous spirit, and the countless lives he touched on and off the set.
