At 69, Reba McEntire wears transparent lace to 2024 ACM Awards, and everyone’s saying the same thing

Reba McEntire made history last week as she hosted the American Country Music Awards for a record-breaking 17th time, and it’s fair to say she stole her own slice of the attention.

The iconic singer was on hand to emcee the ceremony in Fresco, Texas, having performed the same duty on numerous occasions in the past, including in 2019 and as recently as last year.Needless to say, the 69-year-old knows what she’s doing by this point, and her opening monologue more than made clear that she was going to be on top form yet again. Indeed, fans watching at home had plenty of positive things to say about Reba’s hosting skills, not to mention praise to offer as to her outfit for the event’s red carpet.

As per reports, McEntire walked the red carpet in a black sequined blazer accompanied by a pair of flared trousers by Roberto Cavalli, which featured a lace pattern. She completed her flashy look for the evening with turquoise jewelry, including a necklace and chandelier earrings.Needless to say, Reba’s outfit drew all manner of comments online. The singer, who performed the “Star Spangled Banner” at this year’s Super Bowl, is a popular figure in the US beyond, and her fans were out in force after 2024’s ACM Awards.

I HID MY FACE FOR YEARS—UNTIL THE DAY THEY HANDED ME THAT MEDAL I used to stare at the bathroom mirror and not recognize the guy looking back. After the blast, everything changed—my face, my voice, the way strangers looked at me. I couldn’t eat right for months. I couldn’t sleep. People avoided eye contact or gave me that pity smile that stings worse than a slap. At first, I wore a hoodie everywhere. Airports. Coffee shops. Even on base. I’d hear whispers, see phones sneak a picture. I hated being “that Marine with the face.” But what I hated more was the silence. No one ever asked what happened. Not really. Not until that one reporter—Lena—sat across from me with her notepad and said, “Tell me the part that no one ever hears.” So I did. I told her about the convoy. About pulling my buddy Carlos out of the burning Humvee. About the pressure wave, the ringing in my ears, the feeling of skin peeling off like wet paper. I thought I was dying. Then I woke up with my CO at the foot of my bed saying, “You saved three men. They’re calling you a hero.” I didn’t feel like one. Months later, I stood in front of a room full of suits and medals, cameras clicking like popcorn. I saw my mom crying in the front row. My hands were sweating through my dress blues. And then they called my name. But what hit me hardest wasn’t the applause. It was what someone whispered when I walked by…⬇️ (continue reading in the first cᴑmment)
