Texas native Eva Longoria moved to Los Angeles in the 1990s. She began her acting career on âBeverly Hills, 90210â before going on to work on soap operas such as âGeneral Hospitalâ and âThe Young and the Restless.â Then, she landed the role that made her a star, Gabrielle Solis on the TV show âDesperate Housewives.â
Now, in 2024, Longoria has decided that she has had enough of Los Angeles, and doesnât just want to leave the city or the state of California, but she wants to leave the country. Her reason is to provide a better life for her son, Santiago. The actress and her husband, JosĂ© BastĂłn, are currently in the process of trying to sell their home in Beverly Hills while they ship their belongings to their new home in Marbella, Spain.
A source who spoke to The Daily Mail explained, âEva and JosĂ© are leaving Los Angeles for good and have put their home up for sale again. They took it off the market in June but recently relisted it for $4 million less in February because they are just ready to get out. They are already shipping their belongings there and this is not something that they will change their mind on. They want to raise their son in a place where he will be surrounded by nature and beauty and not be sucked into the whole Hollywood cycle.â
The source also shared that Longoria âhas had everything that she wanted in Hollywoodâ and is âvery excitedâ about the move.
In January, Longoria spoke to Hello magazine about why she wants to move to Marbella. She shared, âThe first time I came to Marbella, two decades ago, it was love at first sight. I said to myself: âSome day Iâll live here.ââ She added, âBoth LA and Marbella are close to the sea and have wonderful weather year-round, but apart from that, they couldnât be more different.â
She explained what her life in Los Angeles looks like saying, âIâm either on set, or in a meeting, or stuck in traffic⊠thereâs so much traffic.â Meanwhile, in Marbella âI donât have a schedule here. My days are full of activities â paddle tennis, the beach, lunch, drinks, socializing⊠in fact, theyâre full to the brim, but with things I really enjoy.â
