Her Dad Has Made Millions In The Music Industry, But She Is Homeless On The Streets

Dr. Dre is a world-famous music producer, rapper, and creator of the Beats by Dre headphones. Besides being the owner of a massive stockpile of wealth (Dr. Dre has an estimated net worth approaching $800 million), the “Chronic” rapper is also a father. However, Dr. Dre’s eldest daughter, 38-year-old LaTanya Young, has spoken to Daily Mail about her financial struggles and how she has been living out of her SUV rental while pleading with her father to give her some money.

Unfortunately, Young reported that she had not received anything from her estranged father for the last eighteen months. Dr. Dre’s legal name is Andre Romelle Young. That means that throughout the pandemic, she has been forced to cope with her struggles without the aid of her millionaire father, who was recently ordered to pay $300,000 per month in spousal support to his ex-wife Nicole Young.

In order to make ends meet, Young works as a food delivery driver for apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash. This means that she is forced to survive on the low wages these companies pay their contract drivers as well as the generous tips from people ordering food.

As a mother of four, LaTanya Young is struggling. Besides her two delivery jobs, she also works a third shift as an assemble at a Los Angeles warehouse. But things are not going well for her and her family, and her producer father has been ignoring her pleas for help.

Young is the daughter of Dr. Dre and Lisa Johnson, 53. The pair split up when LaTanya was a five-year-old girl. For the last eighteen years, LaTanya has not seen her biological father. She doesn’t even have her father’s cell phone number and is forced to communicate through his team if she wants to speak to him.

LaTanya even named her first son after her father – the eight-year-old boy is named D’Andre. Her other children are 16-year-old Tatiyana, 13-year-old Rhiana, and three-year-old Jason III.

The struggling single mom told DailyMail.com, “I’ve been working in a warehouse and doing Uber Eats and DoorDash. My kids are staying with friends – they are not living in the car, it’s just me. I’m taking odd jobs just to make it now – I got paid $15 an hour as an assembler at the warehouse. I’m trying to keep my head above water. I’ve been in debt for a while.”

Things have gotten so bad she might lose her rental car, which has also given her a roof over her head.

“The car is a pretty penny,” she said. “It’s an SUV that costs $2,300 for three weeks, and I only paid for one week. Sooner or later, they are going to take the car.”

Last month, Young moved to California from Nevada with her children in search of work – but it has dried up.

“The wage is higher in California – there was no work in Nevada. There weren’t enough jobs. I have friends and family that will let us come back and forth, but the majority of the time, I’m living out of my car.”

Do you think Dr. Dre should help his eldest daughter in her time of need?
