When Love Turns into a Nightmare

Eight months ago, her fiancé proposed to her, and they excitedly began planning their small wedding. They thought they were perfect for each other, and their love was undeniable.

However, just two days before their wedding, her fiancé made an outrageous request. He wanted his father to inspect her hymen in front of his male relatives to check if she was still a virgin.

At first, she laughed it off, thinking it was a joke. But to her surprise, her fiancé was dead serious. In his family, it was customary for the bride’s virginity to be checked the night before the wedding to ensure her purity.

Understandably, the woman was skeptical and unsure if she should go through with it. She couldn’t believe that her fiancé would expect her to undergo such an invasive and humiliating examination.

Feeling torn, she sought refuge at a friend’s house, contemplating her decision. The next morning, she mustered the courage to confront her fiancé and make her stance clear. She told him that she wouldn’t allow herself to be subjected to such a degrading ceremony, and he needed to respect her choice.

To her dismay, instead of understanding and supporting her, he accused her of lying about her virginity. The conversation turned heated, and he became aggressive towards her. In a shocking turn of events, he even resorted to physical violence, slapping her for standing her ground.

Heartbroken and disillusioned, the woman realized that the man she once loved was not the person she thought he was. In that moment, she knew she had to call off the wedding and end the relationship.

It was a difficult and painful period for the woman. She leaned on her friends for support as she dealt with her emotions and began the process of healing. With time, she learned to pick herself back up and move forward.

This true story left many people shocked and speechless. It serves as a reminder that love doesn’t always guarantee respect and understanding. It poses the question: What would you do if faced with a similar situation?

SHE PICKED THE FLUFFIEST PUPPY IN THE LITTER—BUT I KNEW WE COULDN’T KEEP HIM I let her believe it was her choice. We visited the farm “just to look,” I told her. But the second we stepped through the gate, she beelined for the chubbiest, sleepiest little ball of fur—and that was it. Love at first squish. She named him Buttons before we even left the yard. She didn’t know I’d been sleeping in the car some nights, trying to make rent stretch. That the notice taped to our apartment door had the words “final warning” underlined. That the pet deposit alone was more than what I had in my checking account. But watching her that day—barefoot in the grass, grinning with her whole face while Buttons blinked up at her like he already belonged—I couldn’t say no. I told the owner we’d “come back tomorrow.” In the car, she held my hand and whispered, “He picked me too, Mama.” I nodded. But when she fell asleep that night, holding a sock she said smelled like Buttons, I knew I had less than 24 hours to figure something out. Because she’d already made space for him in her heart. And letting that be broken again… wasn’t an option. (read the continuation in the first cᴑmment)
