At 99, Dick Van Dyke proves age is just a number in rare new photo

Dick Van Dyke is approaching his 100th birthday. The Mary Poppins star is still going strong despite his age, and earlier this year, he revealed his recipe for living a long and healthy life. Van Dyke isn’t seen much in public, but just days ago, a new picture of him arose on social media. It’s safe to say that the legendary comedian and actor looks amazing.

Dick Van Dyke is turning an incredible 100 years old in December. The television host, comedian, actor, and writer has lived a long and prosperous life, so why is he still doing so well?

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in January, Van Dyke revealed that it has to do with his workout routine. For as long as he can remember, he has worked out three times a week. Still, at age 99, he is doing the same thing.

“Somebody said, ‘To what do you attribute your age and physical condition?’” Van Dyke said. “I said, ‘I’ve always exercised three days a week.’ We go to the gym, still, three days a week, and I think that’s it.”

“If I got [to the gym] early enough, I would see you literally work out on some weight machine, and then — almost like you were doing circuit training — you would, not walk, to the next machine, but dance,” he continued. “You literally dance to the next machine! And you said that you would go the the gym and work out and then you would go home and swim laps. Then you would get back into bed and take a nap.”

Dick Van Dyke has achieved incredible things in life. As he turns triple digits, he is also releasing a book.

New picture of Dick Van Dyke emerges, months before his 100th birthday

100 Rules for Living to 100: An Optimist’s Guide to a Happy Life is, per the book’s publisher, an autobiographical collection of life advice, stories, and reflections” from Dick Van Dyke’s lengthy career in Hollywood.

Today, Dick Van Dyke has decided to stay out of the spotlight. He is still living in the Los Angeles area, and recently, a new picture of him appeared on social media.

On Instagram, artist Rick Springfield posted a picture of himself and Van Dyke at a gym in Malibu, California. And it would be an understatement to say that the 99-year-old is looking amazing.

“Filming an episode of Men’s Health and I went to the gym and who should be there but 99 year-old Dick Van Dyke working out on every machine,” Springfield wrote in the caption.

“Dick has lived in Malibu for about 30 years and is an awesome human being. I thought I was doing well at 76, but Dick got up from the chest press machine and did a little dance step before I left! Amazing!”
