Fox News analyst Tyrus honored with award celebrating his patriotism and versatility

Tyrus’ Remarkable Transformation and Major Honor

In April 2025, former WWE star Tyrus stunned fans—not with wrestling moves, but with his striking transformation. Once known as Brodus Clay, the wrestler-turned-commentator stepped into the spotlight again. This time, he earned the 2024 Patriot of the Year award from the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Foundation.

On social media, Tyrus expressed gratitude: “Truly humbled tonight to receive the 2024 Patriot of the Year award… I humbly and honorably accepted this great award!”

The award, given by the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association’s charitable arm, honors Americans who support law enforcement and families of fallen officers. Yet, online buzz focused just as much on Tyrus’s physical change—and the fact that he no longer needs a cane to walk.

From Wrestling Ring to Health Comeback

Just a year earlier, Tyrus fought his last match—a grueling Bullrope showdown for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. At that time, he admitted to weighing between 375 and 500 pounds and relying on a cane to walk.

Since retiring, he adopted a new kind of discipline—one centered on health and mental strength.

In an interview with Muscle & Fitness, Tyrus revealed his mindset shift. “Before, if I was having a bad day, I’d grab a Snickers or a sandwich or twenty,” he said.

Now, he embraces simplicity. “If you eat less, and burn more, you lose weight. And if you don’t, you don’t. It’s that simple.”

A milestone came when he finally ditched his cane. “I couldn’t wait to see how far I could throw it across the yard, because I was done with it,” he told Muscle & Fitness.

A Patriot Beyond the Ring

Though no longer wrestling, Tyrus has built a new following. Through Fox News appearances, a best-selling book, and outspoken support for law enforcement and veterans, he’s reshaped his public image.

During his Patriot of the Year acceptance, he honored those who serve. “The true heroes are the men and women who serve and protect this great nation,” he said.

His speech wasn’t flashy or loud, but for longtime fans, seeing Tyrus walk tall on stage spoke volumes.
