If you find this bug in your hair. How to get rid of them and stop them coming back

Head lice are tiny, wingless insects that feed on blood from the scalp, spread easily through direct contact or shared items, and lay sticky

eggs (nits) close to the scalp. They’re hard to eliminate because nits cling to hair, and lice can live off the scalp for up to 48 hours.

Treatment:

Medicated Shampoo – Use over-the-counter lice shampoo or lotion as directed. Apply the correct amount and leave it for the recommended time.

Comb Out Nits – After treatment, use a fine-toothed nit comb on wet hair in small sections, wiping the comb after each pass. This prevents reinfestation.

Repeat – Apply a second treatment in 7–10 days to kill newly hatched lice.

Clean Items – Wash bedding, clothes, and hats worn in the past two days in hot water. Seal unwashable items in bags for two weeks and vacuum furniture and floors.

Prevention:

Avoid sharing combs, hats, scarves, or headphones.

Check your child’s scalp weekly during school season.

Keep long hair tied or braided.

Teach kids to avoid head-to-head contact.

See a doctor if OTC treatments fail or infection signs appear. With patience and care, lice can be eliminated for good.
