Popular 1960s Singer Passed Away At Age 101

Jane Morgan, the elegant singer best known for her hit song “Fascination,” has died at age 101.

She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday while in hospice care in Naples, Florida, her family confirmed.

Born Florence Catherine Currier on May 3, 1924, in Newton, Massachusetts, she studied music at Juilliard and began

singing with Bernard Hilda’s orchestra in Paris. Performing in both English and French, she rose to fame in

European nightclubs before returning to the U.S., where she became a popular TV and stage star through the 1960s.

Her breakout came in 1957 with the romantic ballad “Fascination,” which launched her into American stardom. Morgan appeared on major

variety shows like The Ed Sullivan Show, The Perry Como Show, and The Dean Martin Show, earning a reputation for elegance and global appeal.

She recorded dozens of albums blending pop, standards, and show tunes, performed at the Oscars,

and sang for U.S. presidents. Though her chart success slowed in the late 1960s, she remained a beloved live performer.

In 1965, she married producer Jerry Weintraub, with whom she had four children. After his passing in 2015, she lived a quiet life in Florida.
