When you find⣠yourself in a new area, even if itās just outside your hometown,
thereās ā£a chance youāll come⤠across ācultures and ā¤customsā youāve never heard of before.
Thereās a custom followed by many⤠rural Americans thatā city folks
might not ā¢know about. āBefore you learn what it means, hereās some advice: donāt mess with boots on fences.
On theā fences that border fields of crops or grasslands, you might
notice aā cowboy boot hanging upside down on aā post! It looks odd but did you know⢠it has more⤠meaning?
Itās best to leave these boots alone sinceā they were placed there for a reason.
Why? Ranchersā sometimes do⣠this to remember their favorite horse
that has died! They may also hang up a pair ofā boots off the fence too.
Just like we feel about our pets ranchers can form strong ā£bondsā with their horses!
Any horse owner āwould probably agree; they are āas much loved familyā
members as people feel about their⣠dogs or cats which means when they pass away itās really hard.
So āsome folks will choose to give up one or two bootsā to honor āthem!
Sometimes ā¢a āboot on ā£the fence āstands for someone else⤠too often referring to an old saying āa pair ofā boots for ā£every hand.ā
So if ā¢youāre ever out and see one in nature itās best justā to leave it⣠be!
While it could ābe innocent⣠there is alsoā likelyhood itās ā¤actually
honoring someone which means it should be respected and left alone.
