Austrian scientists have developed InnoMake, a $3,000 shoe designed to help blind individuals avoid obstacles. Created by Tec-Innovation and Graz University of Technology, the shoe uses waterproof ultrasonic sensors on each toe to detect objects up to 13 feet away,

alerting the wearer with vibrations and sounds.The sensors can differentiate between obstacles like walls, cars, or stairs. Future versions may include camera-based recognition and machine learning for improved navigation. InnoMake aims to enhance the independence and safety of visually impaired individuals.
