Sammy and Jordan Knowles waited years to have a child. When their son Jaxon was born, he became their world — joyful, energetic, and full of life.
After a fun family trip, Jaxon began complaining of mild arm pain. His parents thought it was nothing serious. But overnight, everything changed.
By morning, Jaxon had a dark rash under his arm, swelling in his mouth, and began vomiting. Alarmed, Sammy and Jordan called emergency services.
Paramedics arrived quickly, but his condition had already worsened. At the hospital, doctors fought to save him, but on February 17, Jaxon tragically passed away.
The cause: meningococcal disease, a rare but aggressive form of bacterial meningitis. It can strike suddenly,
showing symptoms like rash, fever, vomiting, and extreme fatigue. While vaccines exist for some strains, the one Jaxon had was not covered.
Now, the Knowles family is turning grief into purpose. They created the Jaxon Knowles Forever Fund, working with the charity Meningitis
Now to raise awareness and support vaccine research. Their mission is clear: help other families recognize early warning signs and act quickly.
They want Jaxon’s story to save lives — because bacterial meningitis can progress in hours, and fast action can mean the difference between life and death.
